Social Friday: Karaoke Edition

There are many ways to spend a Friday evening.

You could stay at home and spend four hours arguing with strangers on the internet about topics neither of you understand.

You could watch television until your brain turns into mashed potatoes.

Or...

You could join us  for Social Friday: Karaoke Edition at Bao Box (General Mathenge Drive, Next to Russell Bedford) on 5th June from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and spend the evening singing power ballads with people you've only just met.

And frankly, the third option sounds considerably more sensible.

Before anyone grabs a microphone and attempts to perform a song that is wildly beyond their vocal abilities, we'll start with board games, conversations, and social mixers. The idea is simple: meet people, have a laugh, make a few friends, and discover that strangers are much less strange after a drink and a game of something competitive.

Then, as the evening progresses and confidence levels rise dramatically, we'll move on to the main event.

Karaoke.

Not the polished, professional sort.

The glorious sort.

The sort where someone believes they are the next global superstar, someone else forgets half the lyrics, and somehow everybody has an absolutely fantastic time.

🎟️ Your ticket includes:
• 2 beers, or
• 1 cocktail, or
• 2 non-alcoholic drinks
• Full access to karaoke

What to expect:
• Board games and icebreakers
• Curated conversations and socializing
• A welcoming crowd of friendly people
• Karaoke performances
• Good drinks, and good vibes

You do not need a good singing voice.

In fact, history suggests that having one is almost entirely irrelevant.

What matters is enthusiasm, a questionable song choice, and the willingness to embarrass yourself just enough to create a memorable evening.

So join us.

Meet new people. Play some games. Sing some songs.

And if your rendition of a classic hit goes spectacularly wrong, don't worry.

That's usually when the night becomes truly unforgettable.
